* Band heaters MAY not fit the cylinders on Continental A-65 through 0-200 and 0-300 if there are PAL nuts (lock nuts) on the cylinder studs. See this photo.  The bands will fit these cylinders if there are no lock nuts. The band heater is 3/8" wide.  Please check to see if it will fit your cylinders BEFORE ordering, to avoid a 15% return charge.

** Continental 550 harness can be installed under the induction, offset to one side, or over the top. If you prefer to install it offset order Qty 3 P/N EXT6. If you prefer to install it over the top order Qty 6 P/N EXT6. This part is a 6" harness extension, and are $5 each.

Continental A-65, A-75, A-80, C-85, C-90, O-200 except O-200D, IO-240: because the aluminum HotStrip element must bond to a flat surface, the oval oil sumps on these engines are heated with 3/8" x 12" 50w flexible silicone elements (two if sump heater system or XP System, one if Standard System).  See here for more info.

Band heaters will not fit the cylinders on Franklin engines, Rotax 912/914/915, and Jabiru Gen 4.

Prices shown are for 120v. Add 25% for 220v. For 220v add "-220" to P/N. All systems supplied with US type AC plug, if an adapter is needed you must provide that.

Note 120v systems can be used with a 220v power source by using a small inexpensive transformer like this one...

• Lead time:  All items are normally in stock for immediate shipping.  Our daily UPS truck comes mid to late afternoon, so most orders received by noon will ship the same day you order.  

• SAVE YOUR INVOICE! The invoice for every order is placed inside the box.  Please save it.  We get frequent requests to send duplicate invoices when customers have lost their invoice. This is time consuming for us and we may not be able to respond quickly if we are busy getting orders out.  To help us keep our labor down and avoid price increases, SAVE YOUR INVOICE! 

• PAYMENT - We accept VISA and MASTERCARD. We do not accept American Express or Discover because their merchant fee is about twice as high as other cards and we would have to charge an extra 2-3% on those orders which they will not allow us to do.  We no longer ship orders COD due to problems we have had with bounced checks, and because of the extra staff time required on these orders to process the incoming checks.  Eliminating these costs allows us to keep our prices down. 

• Payments received past the due date are subject to a late charge of 1.5% per month.

• All orders shipped FOB Fort Atkinson WI. To simplify our shipping process, which helps keep our expenses and prices down, UPS is our exclusive shipper.   USPS (United States Postal Service) is available on request but allow at least 1 extra week for shipment because they do not pick up at our location and we must deliver the packages to the Post Office which is a 25 mile round trip and we are not able to do that every day. We will not ship using any service that does not include tracking. We do not use FedEx due to unreliable service in the past.

• Tracking:  If you want to track your shipment, just ask when you place your order and give us your email address, and UPS or USPS will send you tracking info.  If you don't do that, then call us later for tracking data, it is time consuming for us to obtain it, and we may not be able to respond quickly if we are busy getting orders out.    

• To simplify our business and keep our expenses and prices down, we cannot bill UPS charges to the receiver, i.e. to your UPS account number.  The reason is this requires extra work for us, and risk.  We must verify on our UPS invoices that the package was not charged to us (which has happened).  In addition, if the customer doesn't pay his UPS bill or is late paying it UPS will charge it back to us along with an extra handling fee.  That means we then have extra work trying to collect it from the customer.  If he won't pay we have to eat it. 

• Certificate of Conformance and Form 8130-3: These are not required by FAA but If you want them ask. Certificate of Conformance will be printed on your invoice at no charge as follows: "The parts listed in this invoice have been produced and inspected, and conform with the requirements of our FAA-PMA and Quality Management System". If you want a 8130-3 a charge of $50 will apply.    

• Return Policy: 
  • Engine heating systems sold for aircraft use may be returned within 30 days of invoice date if they are accompanied by a copy of the invoice and a note explaining the reason for the return.  A 15% return fee will be charged, and shipping charges will not be refunded. Customers sometimes object to the return fee or the 30 day limit on returns (which are sometimes requested several months or even years after purchase). So let us explain the reason for them. First, it takes us more time than you probably realize to prepare an order for shipment, and to process the return. Second, the credit card companies charge us processing fees of about 6% for the initial charge and the refund. Third, there is no way for us to determine if returned heaters have been damaged by plugging them in without being installed to their heat sink (sump, cylinder, etc). We don't think it's ethical to re-sell as new, heaters that are actually recycled from other customers and are of unknown condition. Nor would most customers appreciate paying for new parts and then getting some like that. So we scrap them rather than re-stocking them. This means we lose money on returns, and the return fee is partial compensation for that. NOTE - most returns are because the customer did not know his engine already has a preheat system installed. Please check this BEFORE ordering, to avoid unecessary costs for you and for us.
