* Band heaters will not fit the cylinders on Continental A-65 through 0-200 and 0-300 if there are lock nuts on the cylinder studs.  The bands will fit these cylinders if there are no lock nuts. Please check this BEFORE ordering, to avoid a 15% restock charge for returns. 

Continental A-65, A-75, A-80, C-85, C-90, O-200, IO-240: because the aluminum HotStrip element must bond to a flat surface, the oval oil sumps on these engines are heated with 3/8" x 12" 50w flexible silicone elements (two if HotPad or Turbo XP System, one if Standard System).  See here for more info.

Band heaters will not fit the cylinders on Franklin engines.

Band heaters will not fit Jabiru engines with SN 1938 and below.  They will fit SN 1939 and above.

Systems available in 120 v or 220 v.  Same price.

• We do not have "On-line" ordering because in our experience most customers have questions, are not familiar with all of our choices, and need assistance determining which system is most appropriate for their needs.

   When calling be prepared to provide the info below: 

• Lead time:  All items except engine covers and cowl plugs are normally in stock for immediate shipping.  Our daily UPS truck comes mid to late afternoon, so most orders received by noon will ship the same day you order. Covers and cowl plugs are custom made so ship about 3 weeks after ordering. 

• The invoice for every order is placed inside the box.  Please save it.  We get frequent requests to send duplicate invoices when customers have lost their invoice. This is time consuming for us and we may not be able to respond quickly if we are busy getting orders out.  To help us keep our labor down and avoid the possibility of us having to implement a fee for this service, please save your invoice. 

• We do not sell or share any of your information with anyone.  However, the invoice is placed inside your box, so if it is being drop shipped to another party and you do not want the receiver to see your invoice let us know and we will email it to you. 

• PAYMENT - We accept VISA and MASTERCARD. We do not accept American Express or Discover because their merchant fee is about twice as high as other cards and we would have to charge an extra 2-3% on those orders which they will not allow us to do.  We no longer ship orders COD due to problems we have had with bounced checks, and because of the extra staff time required on these orders to process the incoming checks.  Eliminating these costs allows us to keep our prices down. 

• To simplify our business and keep our expenses and prices down, we regret we cannot give credit terms.

• To simplify our shipping process, which helps keep our expenses and prices down, UPS is our exclusive shipper.   USPS (United States Postal Service) is available on request. In order to get package tracking service USPS must be shipped by Priority Mail (domestic) or Express (international). Allow at least 1 extra week for shipment to be made by USPS because they do not pick up at our location and we must deliver the packages to the Post Office which is 10 miles away, and we are not able to do that every day. Please do not ask us to use FedEx as we do not have an account with them or any of their shipping forms.  We decline to ship FedEx due to unreliable service in the past.  Even with daily pickup service they would only pickup about 80% of the time, and delivery guarantees on 2nd Day and Next Day Air packages were not met in too many cases.

• Tracking:  If you want to track your shipment, give us your email address when you order and UPS or USPS will send you tracking info.  If you call us later for tracking data it is time consuming for us to obtain it, and we may not be able to respond quickly if we are busy getting orders out.    

• To simplify our business and keep our expenses and prices down, we regret we cannot bill UPS charges to the receiver, i.e. to your UPS account number.  The reason is this requires extra work for us, and risk.  We must verify on our UPS invoices that the package was not charged to us (which has happened).  In addition, if the customer doesn't pay his UPS bill or is late paying it (which has happened) UPS will charge it back to us along with an extra handling fee.  That means we then have extra work trying to collect it from the customer.  If he won't pay or is out of business we have to eat it. 

• Foreign orders: if you need a Form 8130-3 we must hire a DAR (FAA designated airworthiness representative) to provide this form.  This will delay shipment by up to 4 weeks and result in an extra charge of $150.   

• Return Policy: 
  • Engine heating systems sold for aircraft use may be returned within 30 days of invoice date if they are in new, complete (no missing parts), and uninstalled condition and accompanied by a copy of the invoice and a note explaining the reason for the return.  A 15% restock fee will be charged, and shipping charges will not be refunded.
  • Heaters sold for uses other than aircraft may not be returned. By purchasing products for non-aircraft use customer accepts full responsibility for proper fit and suitability. 
  • Engine, prop, and spinner covers and cowl plugs are custom made to your specs, therefore returns will not be accepted unless the item received was not made as ordered. Returns for adjustments are accepted and will be done at no charge (call first to get the return address). Orders for these items may not be canceled once production has begun.
  • Cellular remote controls are not returnable.
  • For all other items, returns will not be accepted if opened.  If unopened these items may be returned within 30 days of purchase date if accompanied by a copy of the invoice and a note explaining the reason for the return. A 15% restock fee will be charged, and shipping charges will not be refunded.
