A programmable timer allows you to turn on your preheater automatically at some predetermined time, so you don't have to drive to the hanger to plug it in.
We do not recommend programming it to cycle your preheater on and off every day unless you fly the airplane daily. These heating/cooling cycles could create condensation in your engine.
You can use the timer with the thermostat, so that your preheater will be both time and temperature controlled.
