Anti-Corrosion Heater
Now Available...
Aircraft owners who don't use their aircraft frequently in winter are often concerned about condensation and corrosion inside their engine. Keeping some heat on the engine can help reduce that risk, but it is unnecessary and wasteful to keep the engine at a high temperature by plugging in a high wattage preheat system. A little heat is all you need, just enough to keep the engine slightly above the ambient temperature and dew point.
This heater is a durable, metal unit, 25 watts, 4" x 1.5". It can be used a couple different ways. One is to clamp a heating element inside each exhaust pipe so heat rises up through the exhaust system and top end to help keep it dry and rust free. You could also use one heating element laid on top of the engine. Use cowl plugs and a blanket to hold the heat inside the engine compartment.
However you use it, remove the heater before flight.
Price ...
$69 per heating element
$15 power cord (1 needed per engine)
You also need a metal clamp for each heating element if you want to clamp it inside the exhaust pipe. This clamp is not included.
FAA approval is not required for this item because it is not installed on the aircraft and it is removed prior to flight.
